5561 miles and my bitch blew up on the way back from the casino tonight took 4 hours to get towed have to call up the dealer tommorw..... 🙃
Honestly not quite sure was on the freeway down shifted from 6th to 5th to 4th back up to 5th to 6th when I got back into 6ths I felt like a rumble in the accelerator pedal then I heard the knocking come onThat is rough I’m sorryWhen you say blew up did it run out of oil and lock up? Over rev? Or not quite sure? Keep us posted, very interested to know root cause once it makes it to the shop.
IDK how that could possibly come to be, I've never heard of something like this in 30 years of driving.Honestly not quite sure was on the freeway down shifted from 6th to 5th to 4th back up to 5th to 6th when I got back into 6ths I felt like a rumble in the accelerator pedal then I heard the knocking come on
I'm a bit inclined to believe this is the case, although I can't imagine he would just floor it in neutral at a highway to bang of the limiter for 10 minutes straight haha.Be honest did you overrev it? Cars don't just blow the F up.
Oh yeah I didn't consider a money shift because he said that he shifted normally, but who knows what could have happened :/No but if the gear change that was supposed to be 4th gear ended up in 2nd gear instead that can be an instant 9000rpm rev. The rev limiter cant do anything if you put it in a wrong gear. I dont like to assume, because shit happens. New cars break for no reason sometimes. At the same time, if there was an assembly issue, it would have shown up well before 5k miles, so who knows.
That really sucks. Are you willing to share any other details? Things such as - how do you know it blew up? Is there visible damage to the engine and/or leaking oil/coolant? When was the last oil change and what type/brand of oil was used, and what gas octane and station(s) have you used to fill up? Have you driven it on track and/or experienced limp mode? Did you lug it when you shifted into 6th? It's great to have documentation incase the issue isn't isolated.Honestly not quite sure was on the freeway down shifted from 6th to 5th to 4th back up to 5th to 6th when I got back into 6ths I felt like a rumble in the accelerator pedal then I heard the knocking come on
If that was the case or any of the cases above people are saying were mis-shifts, then the trans would've blown. A clear symptom of engine failure is white smoke and immediate loss of power. More obvious signs are a literal hole in the block, oil sprayed across the bay, scattered metal remnants, and/or a fire (ask me how I know lol). If its related to shifting, sounds like OP blew up his transNo but if the gear change that was supposed to be 4th gear ended up in 2nd gear instead that can be an instant 9000rpm rev. Not exactly sure what happened , but power loss and knocking when it happened it was full limp modeIf that was the case or any of the cases above people are saying were mis-shifts, then the trans would've blown. Didn't even hit rev limit on the shifts prior to it happeningI'm a bit inclined to believe this is the case, although I can't imagine he would just floor it in neutral at a highway to bang of the limiter for 10 minutes straight haha.
