Yeah well I know that, but at least for me the sales guy always kept me up to date and made the process as transparent as possible. He called me today with this update and how many cars he was able to order for his customers. I wont post the exact number here but I thought - as I trust him so far - it is worth mentioning it here so that others can also ask their dealers about an update.

My Dealer in Germany could order my car 3 weeks ago. He Said only selected Dealers got the chance to order the cars. He got 8 cars. They propably select new Dealers from week to week, based in availability.

Since it seems that all the guys who got their cars had to wait over a year for it, do you guys think that we whose cars are ordered in this wave will be able to get it before july 2024? Or do you know if we will be able to get some exceptions since we actually all ordered it so early and toyota fucked up and didnt deliver on time?

Somebody here on the list of the GR Center in Bielefeld ? Do you got any news about the GR86? Have asked the dealer 3 weeks ago, but he didn’t had any new news.

This is IMO of course so take it as such. My belief is that they won't want to deal with the post 2024 deadline at all with customers. Given the lead time can take 1 year I think this order window will be open until the end of July. If Toyobaru feel they can deal with a reduced lead time (maybe 9 months) then it's open until September latest.

Also, this is very dependant on the country market that you are in. If you are in the UK there is no more opportunity (recent mails from Toyota have given some small hope of more) to order.

Orders for all GR centers were put in in the second week of May. And only GR centers could order (sometimes not even those) This week the customer data is put in, then the slots are gone. But some dealers still have some open slots.

Not Bielefeld, but I just received Info from Toyota Dortmund that they were able to order the car and provide me with an Order number. Should not be different for Bielefeld. If not, feel free to contact Toyota Dortmund.

it seems like that there is some difference. Have asked the dealer and he still couldn’t give me an answer if I get one or not…. But thanks for the info. Hopefully I will get some Infos in the next days.

Same for me. They do know that they will get cars, but they do not know how many cars they get, so he could not give me an answer if I will get mine.

As I see all the starting members here are getting their cars now. This day will come all to the ones who ordered the car (was added to a waiting list) last year. The long waiting time just makes the joy greater when it finally comes. I am pretty confident the ones ordering now will get their cars once for sure before the deadline to EU comes. There will also be many new cars available for sale on the second hand market soon. Most likely mine arriving in AUG/SEP this year will be also for sale immediately after delivery.

Dont forget to check if your car has an alarm, because mine does not, or im too dumb to activate it ahahaa. Also the honking some guys said when pressing some buttons or tripple locking the car isnt there, it seems the car is dead silend in EU

Isn't it the regulatory law in EU in general? I remember that cars can't make sounds for the safety reasons, which includes unlocking/locking sounds as well.
It's one of the easiest way to spot if the car is imported from US, they will make a sound.

The Renault Laguna III from my mother doesn't make a sound (beside the mechanical sounds from the locking) EXCEPT when you leave the car open and go away without locking, at a certain distance it looks itself AND honks (kinda like a reminder: "HEY YOU FORGOT TO LOCK ME! HEAR ME! I JUST DID IT MYSELF!!!")

Got an update in MyToyota apps this morning, order is still processing but I can see all the future locations my car will go through. I guess it will be built next month ? (I didn’t receive any email yet)

I told you everything will be ok! Yes, that actually means build date is locked and it will be manufactured in a month maximum. Expect delivery anytime from late July, more likely August.

I ordered 26th April 23 a GR86 in south Germany at a GR-Toyota center. Just saw the screen of the dealers computer showing ordering status:
order income: 8th May 23
order reference_ NAME - 23 restvol
car condition: NCO non confirmed order
some order codes and car config No. and colour.

no VIN or Production date yet
