I got my Anniv E 86 for MSRP. .They told me 10k over MSRP initially. I laughed and said no way! Called back later and dropped the markup.
Toyota of Decatur (AL) is getting an anniversary AT one in a few weeks.
They wanted a 5k markup on it and wouldnt budge. Wasnt sold 2 weeks ago when I checked on but may be now. Also listing a premium one (AT) in transit.

This BRZ still beats every GR/BRZ I've seen for the most overpriced award (and it used to be $70k!!!!🤣) -

A gross overcharge for sure, but if people have money and don't want to deal with installation/getting parts... from the same ad:

A true one-of-a-kind! This 2022 BRZ Limited has only 19 miles, and almost every factory option available from Subaru, both in the U.S. and from Subaru in Japan! Custom two-tone paint (Sapphire Blue body with a black roof), bronze-color BBS wheels, carbon-fiber spoiler, and stainless steel dual exhaust are just some of the highlights to this incredible vehicle. Come see it today, it won't be here long!
BBS Wheels
CF Spoiler
Dual exhaust
STi Flex bars
Looks like full STi body kit; lip, side skirt, rear diffuser, door handle cups, roof with "vortex generator"
Shift knob
Oil cap

So that leaves
Auto Dimming Mirror
Footwell Illumination

So roughly $5-7k in parts?

Wait, it's "Pre Owned" for 19 miles? WAY hard pass.

Right Toyota in Scottsdale called me since i was on their list. They offered me a 2023 10th anniversary automatic for $20k over MSRP. When I laughed, they said that when i come into the showroom, they could negotiate off that price a little bit. Needless to say, I didn't make that trip. I got my 2023 steel silver MT for MSRP from a different dealer.

The day I took delivery of my ASE for $449 less then MSRP from Toyota of New Bern, Loyalty Toyota of Richmond called me about a red 86 that they just received

It had a lot of good GR Port Installed Options such as the cat back exhaust, filter and shift knob plus it had all weather floor liners and the compass mirror

I told them I wasn’t interested because when I had called about it a couple weeks earlier ( I could see it was “In Transit”) they told me it would have a $5k ADM

They said that the ADM was reduced to $2500 but I still passed and explained that I was getting an ASE for MSRP from a local dealership

So we hung up and about 20 minutes later they called back and told me I could have their car for MSRP if I bought it that day, which was February 28th

I still turned them down but said I would call them back if my local dealership tried any shenanigans or couldn’t get the ASE from the other dealership

So I don’t always expect the dealerships to stick to their ADMs. I think if your serious, give them a call, you never know

In eastern NC, a lot of non-Chevy dealerships buy current model year C8 Vettes and sell them as “Used”, normally with less than 10 miles on them with a $20k - $40k ADM and they sell

It is the main reason I didn’t buy a C8 this year and instead ordered a 2023 XT4 for the wife and a few weeks later was able to get an ASE GR86 for me :)

Now I’m looking at a getting a 2022 WRX GT toward the end of the year once we pay off the wife’s Caddy

Interesting. I’m actually getting my 23 Halo Premium MT from Loyalty Toyota in Richmond (Chester actually). When I came by in person to inquire back on 3/7, they told me it was unclaimed. They wanted to do MSRP + $2000 “appearance package.” Including crap like paint sealant, seat protection, yada yada yada. Told them no way I’m paying for any of that, but would give them a $1000 deposit today if they’ll agree to MSRP only. Took about 30 mins and they dropped the appearance package and I got it signed for at MSRP. So you are correct about these ADMs, just negotiate a little and you can typically get them waived. They just wanna see how gullible you are initially….lame

Anyway, got a call from my SM this morning and my car has arrived at the NY port as scheduled. He hopes it’ll be at the dealership in 3-4 weeks. So amped!!!

So that is definitely a slipup and is not a $20,000 markup, but is a $2,000 markup. I almost passed on my car due to this, but figured what the hell as they are only about an hour away from me. I can confirm as I got in touch with them and let them know about it. I've been on so many waitlists with completely uncertain timelines (I wanted a manual premium in Trueno blue and wouldn't settle for anything but that), so I said f it and accepted the $2,000 markup. I should be picking up the car on the 1st of May, so I see it as small price to pay to be able to enjoy the car very soon and not have to wait a year (at least).
